Chunchi Falls - Weekend Picnic Spot in the Middle of Lush Green Forest

Image
This time our toes were on visiting Chunchi falls, a place where cascading water falls from a height of about 100 feet. This destination is located en route to Mekedatu and Sangama near Kanakapura. The location is about 85 kilometers from Bangalore city via Kanakapura-Dodda Alahalli. The roads to the destination are good, until the last 5 to 8 kilometers, where the village roads aren't maintained well. When we reached the location, had to pay a parking fee of rupees 30 for the car. In the parking area found 3 to 4 small shops selling water, chats and some fruits, except that nothing else is found. Hence, it is better to carry our own water and snacks. From the parking area, we had to walk about 1.5 km on the hill to reach waterfalls. Found a small power station at the starting point, on the top of the hill. It is said that after the installation of this power plant, the amount of water had significantly reduced to Falls. As we walked about half a kilometer, came across a watch t

Well, this time our journey headed towards North Bangalore, on the foothills of Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district to visit the architectural marvel of 9th century AD.  Yes, its another marvel of Dravidian architecture, named Bhoga Nandeeshwara temple, located at Nandi Village, dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva. This place is located at a distance of about 55 kilometers from Bangalore. You may reach the place by National Highway44, few minutes drive after New Bangalore Airport toll gate, at a stretch of 5 to 10 kilometers. Overall, it's about 2 hours drive from our home to this destination. As we reached the destination, we did park the vehicle close to the main gates of the temple complex, we do not have a dedicated parking space in this place, but have enough space to keep our vehicles on the roadside with no parking fee. As we entered the gate, found a very large lawn spread with big trees around and many of them looked centuries old. Further, as we walked about 15 meters
